Hello, fellow bulbers! I'm sure most of you are aware of it by now, but just in case you missed it, Jesse has uploaded a newer version of Mandelbulb 3D. Here's the link to the page, just click on the Mandelbulb 3Dv174.zip hyperlink to start the download: www.fractalforums.com/index.ph…
Also, there's a topic on Fractal Forums called Parameters List. So, you can either go grab some or post some.
I find Fractal Forums a wonderful source of info and parameters and some really inspiring bulbs.
I am always on the lookout for great params and helpful tips. A lot of the time I can find help here through my dA friends, but if I still need more info, I can often find it on Fractal Forums. Here's the link to the site:
Also, here's a little explanation on how to use Pre-Transforms in Mandelbulb 3D. (They are the formulas that start with an underline).
Sorry it's been awhile since I have done a blog entry, but school has cranked up again and we have been busier than a one-legged man in a butt-kicking contest!
I've been using Mandelbulb 3D to create fractal exploration animations and am beginning to get more serious with it. The laptop I have now has gotten me this far but is already struggling and beginning to frustrate me. I'm looking into investing in a new computer but am not very tech savvy, so I'm wondering if anyone can give me some advice as to what kind of specs I should look for? Processors, memory, etc. What is the important stuff when it comes to rendering these animations? Also, any recommendations between Mac and PC? I hear Mac's are low maintenance but at a cost? Is that statement overrated? Thank you in advance!
this journal may need a update, new version of M3D were released with quite cool new features
I've been wanting to try out Mandelbulb, since I already use Apophysis and Chaoscope, but I can't find a download. Also, the link you gave brought me to a page that said "no such download exists."
I saw the new version. What are the differences?
Very good journal entry. I regularly check to see if there is anything new or interesting threads in the forums. ALso in the download section for MB3D1.74 is a set of maps, to compliment the ones it comes with. They are already numbered. Terrific idea for informing everyone.
