Hello, fellow bulbers! Mario has been really good organizing and trying to improve the group so that it is more interactive and perhaps helpful to the members. I know I could use all the help I can get. He has created some new folders in the Gallery that I think some people will find useful. The first is the "Tweaking Room" folder, which Mario told you about in the last blog.
The other folder of interest (and I must admit, I suggested it) is the Can You Improve This? The basis of this folder is personal and selfish. Well, maybe not that bad, but I wanted someplace to post some MDBs that look like they could have some potential, but just don't have the polished look or isn't quite detailed enough or the design has some minor flaws, something that prevents the image from being a decent Mandelbulb. I know I'm a newcomer to the program and there's so much I don't know about it. But, I know there are some of you out there who have been playing with Mandelbulb3D (and Mandelbulber), though I think most are using Mandelbulb 3D. I have only used Mandelbulb 3D so far and I'm beginning to sort of get the hang of it, but I have a long way to go and if I could see what someone does to below par params to make them better, I may be able to get a handle on what it takes to achieve really smooth, detailed results.
If everyone thinks this is a stupid idea, we can always remove the folder. But, if you've ever had images that you think someone who knew what they were doing could turn it into the beauty you know is there, then this folder is for those.
Let us know what you think about it and also if you have any other suggestions for folders or Challenges or Features or anything along those lines.
Take care, all, and happy bulbing!
